Center Use Policies

M Simulation is dedicated exclusively to the development and implementation of simulation-based teaching and assessment experiences. M Simulation operates as an Internal Service Organization, providing subsidized rates for University of Minnesota clients, and allowing external users access to all facilities and services through a fee-for-service model.

Professional behavior, consistent with expectations for actual clinical settings, is required of all stakeholders in M Simulation facilities.

Cancellations must be made 72 hours (3 business days) prior to scheduled use, or the stakeholder may be charged for all contracted services. Please note that M Simulation reserves the right to cancel events for any safety reasons related to COVID-19.

Universal precautions against infectious disease are to be followed at all times while working in the M Simulation facilities. Please see our homepage for specific information about our Flexible Operations Plan approved in May, 2020 as a result of COVID-19. This plan will remain in place until there is a proven and effective vaccine for COVID-19.

Loss and theft prevention is the responsibility of stakeholders. M Simulation provides storage spaces for personal items, but stakeholders are responsible to assure the security of those items.

Damage to equipment and the facility is the responsibility of stakeholders Stakeholders will be assessed for the replacement or repair cost of any equipment or facilities that are damaged, destroyed, or lost during use.

Extreme weather may cause activities to be altered to assure safety of participants. In rare circumstances, the University may close, requiring events to halt or be cancelled.
